If you’re in the mood for something sweet but not too sweet, have you thought about maybe a Taiwanese dessert? Because that is exactly what MeetFresh in Raleigh serves up! This international chain has had a couple of locations in the Triangle but currently, the Raleigh location is the only one still open. And it’s a bit of a shame because they are serving up some really interesting sweets and desserts. So if you’re a bit curious about MeetFresh, read on!
MeetFresh, Raleigh – Location, Interior

MeetFresh is located in a newer development just north of Crabtree Valley Mall, called Crabtree Terrace. Along with some office space, this development also houses Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille (and their famous porkchop)! Park in the structure just north of the main building and you’ll find MeetFresh Raleigh in a wedge-shaped courtyard across from Perry’s. Inside you’ll find a very modern space with plenty of space to stretch out in. Polished concrete floors, white globe lighting overhead along with padded bench seating around the dining area. The space is quirky and colorful, during my last visit, a cadre of stuffed animals sat in one corner of the dining room. While MeetFresh is mostly about desserts, it’s also a cafe and I could see some people grabbing a comfortable corner and staying a while, powered by boba tea and desserts!

MeetFresh, Raleigh – Menu, Food

While MeetFresh is a quick-casual, counter order type setup, there’s also a digital kiosk up front for touchscreen ordering! Scan the expansive menu to figure out what you want, it may be a bit confusing (it was to me). I admit to not being a Taiwanese dessert expert and the long list of desserts includes ingredients like taro ball (soft, chewy nuggets), grass jelly (dark gelatin), red bean (sweet and soft), mochi (chewy, glutinous rice flour), egg waffles, and more. There’s also a nice selection of milk teas, fruit teas and slushes. Most Asian desserts tend to be light on the sugar and more about textures so be aware! I’ve tried the passion fruit parfait which has multiple layers of passionfruit ice, almond custard, red beans, and mochi, a fun dessert.

And MeetFresh’s Icy Taro Ball signature is shaved ice with taro paste, taro balls, and boba, a chewy but sweet sensation. I plan on trying the egg waffle next, love that bubbly crispy texture. And you don’t want to miss the robotic cotton candy machine in back! For $5 you get to choose a design and a beautiful cotton candy bouquet is spun up for you, a lot of fun. Check out my video below to see it in action.

MeetFresh, Raleigh – Service, Conclusion

Service at MeetFresh is pretty solid and helpful, the family that runs the place is on top of things! Overall I’m a pretty fan of MeetFresh given it’s authentic, Taiwanese origins and they are serving up treats that would be hard to find anywhere else in the Triangle. Give the place a try and if you’re not familiar with the desserts, ask for some recommendations or take a chance on a random menu item. I’m pretty sure you’ll be pleased because MeetFresh is doing an awesome job serving Asian-style desserts and sweets…
